The controller can create multiple arrays.Ģ. You can do what you want to, you just can't do it the way you want to.ġ. What does it mean when it says other controllers are not supported? The controller I am using P420i is not in the list of supported controllers for this message. HP Smart Array controllers do not support boot volumes exceeding 2.2TB. To use hard drives exceeding 2.2TB, you must create a boot volume using offline ACU version 8.75 or later. NOTE: To support HP hard drives exceeding 2.2TB, HP Smart Array Firmware version 5.0 or later is required for the following controllers: I looked into what you said last and this is what I found: One of the new drives is the one that failed. I purchased 4 additional drives this week so they are brand new. There were 4 drives in the server already, configured RAID 5 with a spare and I was asked to extend the server space. Background info: This configuration predates me. The drive in Bay 7 failed as soon as I started the Array expansion.Ĥ. Both of the critical errors relate to 1 failed drive in Bay 7, which was made a spare automatically by the software.ģ. All of the hard drives in the Array are 1 TB SAS 7.2k (total of 8 drives in 8 bays).Ģ. Thank you all for your input! Ok, so to address some of your questions:ġ.
